My Engagement Was Delivered

How best is your proposal tactics? I have heard of so many romantic proposal stories. Men that know how to pull up amazing surprises are the real MVPs. This love season, I hope to see more of this on social media. Love is beautiful and I am not left out. Yes, you read that right, I no dey carry last.

This is a personal story of how my boyfriend proposed to me. We have been dating for 3 years now. As my first and only relationship, I carried it on my head like it was my life. Not to bore you with unnecessary details, let’s get to the gist.

I have been pressuring my boyfriend to tell me how he was going to propose to me. Knowing that he is always full of surprises, my overthinking wasn’t helping matters. I begged him to hint me but he didn’t. That was expected anyway.

This particular day, he was at my apartment doing what we usually do in our leisure time. Gisting. Cuddling. Watching movies. We were doing these things at random, in no particular order when I received a call.

An unknown number. “Who is this?” I thought to myself. I picked up the call. The person on the other end of the call, a male, asked to confirm my address and told me he was outside with a package for me.

“Baby, did you order something for me?”. I turned to my boyfriend and asked. He said he didn’t and teased me about having a secret admirer. He encouraged me to at least receive the package. “ Maybe it would give you an idea of who ordered it for you", he said.

I reasoned with him and went outside. At one corner of my mind, I was scared. I was hoping it wasn’t a scam or something of that sort. To cut the long story short, I went out and collected the package.

I peeped into the bag, it was a jewelry box, at least that’s what it looked like to me. I entered my apartment to show my boyfriend. He asked me to open it to confirm if it was a necklace like I assumed it to be.

As I opened the box, my baby got down on one knee and popped the question! Never in my life did I think he was going to go to that extent to surprise me. I didn’t see it coming at all. Using a dispatch rider to deliver my engagement ring? Unbelievable! That’s how I got engaged.
